Extracts from a Spanish study concerning female sexual assaults on males in non-family situations. The report in the main lists examples of assaults and rape of males by females or in some cases joint female/male groups. The evidence for each case comes from interviews the victims gave to either the authors of the report or to police therapists who were contacted by the authors. The report finishes by a discussion on the extent of the problem in Spain and then by listing several recommendations and areas for further study.
A fellow worker in Spain sent the report to me and then I scanned and computer translated it, as I do not understand Spanish. I have then gone though and tried to correct the most obvious mistakes and also to put in my own words for the sexual acts described in the report.
1. Single female to male - man (23) talks to woman same age in bar and she demands that he give her sex. When he refuses she screams until he agrees. They go to his flat where they both get naked and she ties him to his bed. She makes him give her oral sex and rapes several times before leaving him still tied to the bed. No problems for victim afterwards.
2. Single female to male – man (18) goes with woman (30’s) she ties him to bed during sex and makes him have sex many times laughing when he refuses or begs and making him give her oral sex. She keeps him for three days using him many times each day. No problems for victim afterwards but no charges against the woman.
3. Multi female to male (violent) – man (18) gets involved in a dispute with six girls of similar ages. The argument gets violent and he is hit and kicked by the girls. They then strip him naked and squeeze his balls. Then he is forced to give four of the girls’ oral sex before being masturbated between one of the girls breasts. Then after giving her oral sex two more girls and then her rape him. He is told not to come but does with her and is kicked several times hard in the balls by her. Then another of the girls gets a wine bottle and he is anal raped with this causing him serious pain. The girls leave and he goes to hospital for treatment to his anus and balls. He was vague as to who the girls were so they were never found
4. Multi female to male – man (19) is a member of a sports team and they lose a bet to a female team. As a forfeit the man has to perform a striptease show for the girls. However when he is naked they assault him and masturbate him. They then claim as he has come they should and he is made to have sex with about 12 of them giving all oral sex and being raped by 6 of them. After this he cannot get an erection so he has his groin shaved and painted and is then flung out naked. He is arrested but not charged and the police break up the party encountering some problems in doing so.
5. Single female to male – man (26) goes with a girl (18). After having sex he cannot get an erection but she forces him at knifepoint to give her oral sex three times. No problems for victim afterwards.
6. Mixed group to male (Homosexual) – man (19) drinks with man (28) and woman (24). They go to a room where he is forced at knifepoint to give oral sex to both the man and the woman and then is raped by the woman. Victim latter needs treatment for depression.
7. Single female to male (violent) – man (22) goes to girl’s (20) room. She demands sex and when he refuses attacks him with a bottle and a pan. She knocks him out and strips him and ties him to the floor and then rapes him several times hitting him as she does so. Then she unites him and attacks him again so he leaves naked and bleeding. The police are called and both are arrested. He requires hospital treatment and she is fined for drunkenness.
8. Mixed group to male (Homosexual) – man (18) and homeless drinks with mixed group. Then in a backroom he is grabbed and assaulted. There two of the women strip him and give him oral sex until he is erect. Then one of them rapes him cheered on by the rest. Afterwards he is made to gives 2 of the women and 3 of the men oral sex. Next one of the women anally rapes him and during this he gives one of the men and another of the women oral sex. He is thrown out dressed in female clothing. Latter in prison for other offences he is given therapy for this and other incidents.
9. Multi female to male (violent) – man (36) argues with a group of women (30 to 50) outside a bar. They assault and kidnap him. He is taken to a room and stripped and tied up. Then one of then gives him oral sex until he is erect and then he is raped by 3 of them in front of the rest. He is then anally raped with a dildo and a bottle before he agrees to give 5 of them oral sex. They then dress him in female clothing and two of them urinate over him. No problems for victim afterwards but no charges against the women.
10. Multi female to male – man (20) plays and loses a game of strip poker with 4 girls (17 to 22) as a forfeit he has to give each girl both oral sex and sex. After 2 girls he protests and they grab him and tie him down and made him complete the sex. He claims to be finished so 2 of them give him oral sex while the other 2 watch and laugh. Then he gives 3 of them oral sex before being allowed to go. No problems for victim afterwards.
11. Single female to male (violent) – man (18) assaulted by a girl (19) in the street. She pulls him into a wood where she makes him give her oral sex and then rapes him. She then steals his wallet and shoes. She is arrested and imprisoned for stealing from him and others but is not charged with a sexual offence later he refuses therapy.
12. Mixed group to male (Non- Homosexual) – man (19) goes drinking with a mixed group. Later on he is grabbed and stripped by the girls and in full view of the rest he is raped by 4 of them while giving another one oral sex. The watching men do not participate but watch and insult him. No problems for victim afterwards but no charges against the women or men.
13. Single female to male – man (28) goes with younger woman. They try to have sex but he cannot get an erection. She physically pins him down and makes him give her oral sex and then throws him out. Latter he suffers from depression.
14. Multi female to male – man (18) is drinking with a group of girls (16 to 19) and accepts a challenge to love them all. He goes to a flat where he has sex and oral sex with 5 of them but then is exhausted. The girls pinch him and give him oral sex and make him have sex with 2 more and then for a 2nd time with 4 of them. Several times he is given oral sex to keep him erect. He passes out and the next morning is made to have sex and oral sex with 4 of them before being allowed to go. No problems for victim afterwards but no charges against the women.
15. Single female to male (violent) –man (30) has argument with woman (44) in a bar. She hits him with a chair and then pulls him into the female toilet where she rapes him. Afterwards she smashes his head against the toilet and he requires hospital treatment. Both arrested and she claims he assaulted her. However he is not charged while she is fined for damaging the bar.
16. Multi female to male- man (19) agrees to go to a girl’s (18) house. There he finds 5 more women (18 to 45) and is grabbed and stripped. All 6 rape him and make him give them oral sex usually in pairs. Eventually when he cannot get an erection they shave his groin and anally rape him. No problems for victim afterwards.
17. Mixed group to male (Homosexual) – man (17) goes to a flat with a woman (23) where present is another man (29) and a woman (35). They drink and the 1st woman has sex with him. Then the man demands sex and when he refuses he is beaten up. He is then made to give all 3 oral sex before both women rape him and he gives the man more oral sex. He complains to the police and the 3 rapists are imprisoned for drug offences but the sexual matter is dropped. The male rapist commits suicide in prison when he is found to be HIV+ but the victim is clear.
18. Mixed group to male (Non- Homosexual) –man (18) is after watching a local football match grabbed by a gang of fans of the opposite team. He is hit and kicked by both sexes and then taken by 4 women to a side room and stripped naked and raped and made to give them oral sex. He is then taken naked to the main room where in front of a mixed group of at least 30 he is anally raped by 2 of the women and then by a much older woman. She then takes him off and he gives her and 2 more older women oral sex before they release him. No problems for victim afterwards but he does receive counselling.
19. Single female to male – man (20) lies about work expenses. His female boss (52) makes him over 6 months give her oral sex at least once a day and also masturbate for her several times a week. She also makes him shave his groin and wear her underwear. In the evenings she phones him and makes him masturbate into her underwear while she does the same and demands to see the dirty underwear the next day. After 6 months he leaves but it is another 3 months before she leaves him alone. The victim requires counselling for the effects of this long-term abuse.
20. Multi female to male- man (22) agrees to go to an all girl party. There he is stripped and painted before after washing being dressed as a girl and made to give oral sex to at least 14 girls with at least 8 of then having a 2nd turn. He is then raped with a vibrator until he reaches orgasm. Afterwards they wax his legs, chest, armpits and groin and he gives more oral sex. He sleeps in the house and the next morning he gives 6 of the girls more oral sex and is raped by 3 of them. He is then dressed as a girl and taken shopping by a group of girls and afterwards he gives at least 8 of them more oral sex and is once more raped with the vibrator. In the evening dressed as a girl he is taken to a party where he gives oral sex to at least 12 girls including at least 6 girls he has not been made to give it to before. He then spends the night with 2 older women who rape him and make him give them oral sex before the next day getting his freedom. No problems for victim afterwards but he does receive counselling.
21. Mixed group to male (Homosexual)- man (20) gets drunk at a party where a group of girls strip him and then he is raped by at least 3 men. Afterwards he is made to give 4 girls oral sex before another man rapes him. Latter he suffers from depression and impotence.
22. Multi female to male (violent) – man (19) suffers from 5 years of abuse by a group of women (20 to 35). It starts at a party where he gets drunk and is beaten up by 3 women alleging he touched one of their breasts. The next week they see him at another party and threaten him and he agrees to give the 3 of them and then 6 more women oral sex. Afterwards he is raped by 4 of them. The next day he is seen by the women who when he refuses to go with them assault him until he agrees. He then gives oral sex to and is raped by 6 of them. Afterwards they anal rape him with a dildo for arguing and he agrees to do as they want. Over the next 5 years the women rape him about 3 times a week. In total over 15 women rape him but his regular rapists number 8. The women rape him and make him give the oral sex as well as anally raping him. If he refuses or fails they assault him and in particular rape his anus with a variety of large objects. After 5 years of this now ages 24 he has a nervous breakdown and is sent to a residential unit where he receives therapy.
23. Single female to male –man (30) is forced by female boss (44) into a relationship. She makes him give her regular oral sex and rapes him. After 3 months he tries to finish the relationship but she refuses and from then on is much more sexually demanding and aggressive. She rapes him until he cannot get an erection and then she makes him give her oral sex and anally rapes him. 6 times over the next year he requires hospital treatment for damage to his anus and balls from her raping. Eventually he complains to his bosses and they decide to transfer him and to promote him to her level so the abuse finishes.
24. Multi female to male – man (18) goes to a girls flat where there are 4 girls (18 to 21). They play strip poker and get him naked. Then in front of them all they make him give each girl oral sex and then they masturbate him with their hands and breasts. Then he gives them all oral sex again before they take turns to give him oral sex. Afterwards he wants to leave as he is satisfied but they hide his clothing and make him give them all oral sex again. Then they give him oral sex until he has an erection and then 3 of them rape him. Afterwards he passes out and the next morning he finds they have shaved his body hair off. In return for his clothing he has to give all 4 girls oral sex once more. No problems for victim afterwards but he does receive counselling.
Statistics from USA
…. Struckman-Johnson (1994) examined the prevalence of men pressured and forced into unwanted sexual activity. The authors reported that about one third of their sample of college men had experienced pressured or forced sex since the age of 16. In evaluating the most used tactics for the pressured or forced episodes, 88% of the pressured or forced subjects reported experiencing verbal persuasion, intoxication, emotional manipulation, and bribery, and 12% reported experiencing the use of physical restraint, physical intimidation, harm, or threat of harm… Anderson (1998, 1996), presented self-reported prevalence rates for women's sexual coercion of between 25% and 40% and for physically forced sexual contact between 1.6% and 7.1%. Of perhaps greater significance was the women's self-reports of engaging in a classic date-rape scenario - taking advantage of someone who was under the influence of alcohol or drugs. When asked about initiating sexual contact with a man when his judgment was impaired by drugs or alcohol, between 32% and 51% of the women said that they had. Further, between 5% and 15% of women reported giving a man alcohol or drugs in an attempt to have sexual contact with him. …. Craig Shea (1998) concluded, based on the results of two separate studies, that coercers could be distinguished from other college women in that they were more likely; 1) to view traditional women's roles as being constricting, 2) to believe that forcing sex at times is acceptable, 3) to acknowledge that it is acceptable for women to have and act on sexual thoughts and desires, and 4) to admit their lust and desire for power in sexual encounters…. Anderson, Arceneaux, Carter, Miller, & King, 1995 have revealed that young girls have become socially assertive in calling young boys on the telephone and even asking for dates at a very early age….
Recommendations
People dealing with male clients should believe them when they claim to have been raped by a woman. They should also be aware that the effects of this rape vary from a positive feeling as the man feels he is more sexually desirable to extreme negative feelings on the rape and its effect on his male ego. While most men suffer far less than women from rape trauma some are badly affected. Men who already have sexual problems concerning potency, size and sexual orientation can be particularly badly affected. The presence of a man particularly if he is involved in the rape makes the situation far worse for the male calling into question his manhood… a man can have an erection and orgasm during rape but this does not mean sexual excitement or enjoyment and the same is true of women…. A man who claims no affect from the rape should not be over pushed so that he imagines a negative effect…rape by a group of women is frequently seen as less destructive by the male as he regards himself involved more in a game…
